Welcome to Double Springs Baptist Church

Where Faith & Family Connect

Announcements

Dear Double Springs Baptist Church Family and Friends,

We are so blessed to be able to announce that our Preschool, Children, Student, and Adult Bible study ministries will resume beginning Sunday, May 2nd.  We realize that the COVID-19 Virus threat is still very real.  However, with a large number of our folks having been vaccinated, and continued safety precautions being practiced, we feel we can gather together again with minimal risks.

As we do so, we would ask you to do a few things.  First of all pray!  Pray for God to protect us and pray that He will help us reach our community with the Gospel.  Secondly, please plan to be present for Sunday School on May 2nd at 9:30 and encourage everyone you know to come and be a part of our Bible Study groups.  Thirdly, we are asking you to help us practice every precaution we possibly can.  Below are the safety protocols for each age division. We recognize that these protocols will seem extreme to some and not stringent enough for others.  However, your Leadership Team feels that they are reasonable and we are prayerfully asking everyone to abide by them.

If you have any questions regarding the protocol below please feel free to call any member of our Double Springs Baptist Church Leadership Team.

Sincerely,

Mike Bibb (Media and Communications Team Leader) 864.376.1587

Protocol for Preschool and Children’s Sunday School

* Check In Table: Each child will have his/her temperature taken at the check in table before entering the education building.  Children will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering the classroom.

*Teachers will be responsible for cleaning/sanitizing the classroom after each class.  Cleaning supplies will be purchased and placed in each room.

*Masks are suggested for teachers and all children will be asked to wear masks, with the exception of nursery and preschool age children.

*We ask that no food and/or drinks be distributed in class.  Teachers can prepare individual baggies for children to take home if desired.

*We ask teachers to prepare supplies baggies (pencil, crayons, glue, scissors, etc.) for each child to use during class and sanitize after class.  Also, it is recommended that teachers refrain from planning crafts/activities which require close interaction.  Those types of crafts/activities can be prepared in individual baggies for children to take home and complete.  All activities planned during class time must be arranged so that children are socially distanced.

*We ask that all cloth toys/materials be removed from the classrooms.  All supplies/toys need to be made of material that can be sanitized after each class.

Protocol for Youth Ministry

*Masks, hand sanitizer, tissues, and disinfectant wipes will be provided and readily available.

*Before class meets, the teacher will disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door knobs and tabletops.

*Class size will be kept small to ensure proper distancing can be maintained.

*Class may be held outside if weather permits.

*Students are asked not to attend if they are not feeling well, have a fever, or have been in close contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive.

*Students are encouraged to wear masks when social distancing is not possible.

Protocol for Adult Sunday School

*All Sunday School rooms will be cleaned and sanitized. Each teacher will be responsible for his/her classroom prior to reopening May 2nd.

*Cleaning/sanitizing will continue after each Sunday School attendance.  Wipes and hand sanitizer will be available in each room.

*On-going policies: Social distancing will be practiced.  Masks are recommended.  Each room will be cleaned/sanitized at the end of each class.  Chairs and tables will be cleaned.
